Hello, everybody. To my surprise, there aren't very many Mage guides, especially when it comes to Ice Mage's, so I took it upon myself to write this guide in order to help those of you who wish to become decent Ice Mage's.
Let's get started. The first thing you'll want to know is how to distribute your stat points. From personal experience, I recommend going INT all the way for maximum damage. Another way to go is 2 INT and 1 END, which is probably the best way to go for an Ice Mage, but that's up to you to decide.
Skill Point Distribution
Left Tree:
Blizzard - 1/5
Halo of Ice - 1/5
Imp. Blizzard - 5/5 (This is an AMAZING skill, especially in PvP. It does a considerably large amount of damage and has a large range as well).
Empyrean Winds - 1/5 (This is a useful PvP skill when it comes to putting distance between you and your enemies).
Black Hole - 1/5 (This skill is useful for keeping enemies within your Blizzards range).
Middle Tree:
Ice Cone - 1/5 (Make this skill your default attack until you've unlocked it's improved version).
Wind Strike - 1/5
Imp. Ice Cone - 5/5 (Make this skill you're default attack until you've unlocked it's mastered version. In addition to it's higher damage, it also allows you to cast Blizzard more easily).
Frost - 1/5 (It's not a very useful skill. I personally prefer Halo of Ice and Ice Cone over it).
Imp. Wind Strike - 1/5
Ice Blast - 1/5 (This is a pretty useful skill, as the DoT really adds up).
Master Ice Cone - 5/5 (Make this skill your default attack).
Right Tree:
Ice Shield - 5/5 (This skill gives you AMAZING physical damage reduction and SP regeneration).
Alacrity - 1/5 (Don't worry about maxing out this skill until you've reached later levels).
Magical Penetration - 1/5
Deep Freeze - 4/5 (This is a GREAT skill, as it increases your damage by 20%).
Mana Breeze - 1/5 (This is yet another GREAT skill. It's useful for restoring your mana when you have no other way to do so, or if you'd like to preserve you potions).
Icicle Armor - 5/5 (Max out this skill ASAP).
Note: Maxing out both Ice and Fire Shield isn't a bad way to go either, as it's the best of both worlds. If you'd like to do so, I'd take away skill points from Deep Freeze.
Other
Soul:
You'll want to focus on Brilliance, but to be more specific, Rage. Light, Vulgarity, and Madness will increase your intellect, and Ice will increase your defense.
Equipment:
The Savage gear is probably the best way to go due to it's GREAT defensive capabilities. Once you reach level 55, you might want to consider using the Bloodforged Hat due to it's MP regeneration boost.
Pets:
Your best bet would be either the Demon pets or a Teeka. The Teeka's healing capabilities are GREAT, not to mention that it's buff increases your MATK and MDEF for a little bit.
I hope I was able to help you guys out. I'll be adding pictures as well as more in-depth information in the near future. Good luck!
